I am a big, round beast. Or at least that’s how I feel. I can’t sleep at night because I’m constantly thirsty, having to go to the bathroom, or lolling from side to side. This, as you can see, is very beast-like in nature. Also, my appetite is such that I can eat pretty much all the time, as long as I graze like the quadruped I have become and don’t consume too much in one sitting. Doing such causes heartburn and reflux. Yum.
When I touch my very itchy, almost-32-week belly, I leave little white fingerprint dots, like when you have a sunburn. No stretch marks yet? I guess I should count my blessings and knock on wood. I was told that using lotion doesn’t help, but I plaster up every night with a product that Jordan says smells like Play-Doh.
Other women say that their hair grew and grew during pregnancy. Well, I shed a lot, and my leg hair growth, which has always been fascinatingly expedient, has slowed to match the pace of my school-issued laptop.
Many of the maternity clothes that I spent months trying to fit into are now form-fitting to my abdomen.
I haven’t been as religious about taking week-by-week photos as I should be, but here’s about 30wks, at my brother’s wedding, before I was hit by the worst cold of my life:
You can see my bump from this view:
Patrick and Meg’s wedding was so beautiful. She was one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever witnessed, and my brother looked so happy. They are in Hawaii now, and today is his birthday.
And here I am at about 7:00am looking mighty chipper outside of my classroom yesterday (31 & 1/2 wks):
It was Hawaiian spirit day. Don’t judge me for my lack of enthusiasm. Finding anything that fit was rather challenging.
On another note, my shower is this weekend, and I am so excited! I can’t wait to spend a day celebrating our son’s upcoming arrival. My mom/sister/Megan/Erin are all in planning mode, and it’s bound to me an extravaganza of epic fun. It’s all owl/woodland themed, like Carter’s nursery!
I’m a little nervous because two weeks ago, the ultrasound tech (who has been wrong about things in the past), told me Baby was measuring 3lbs 11oz. So, especially back two weeks, he’d be measuring very big. I want him to have all the time in the world to get healthy and strong, and I’m not (too) afraid of having a c-section… but it’s a bit to rest on one’s mind.
